OPSA and FOLLR DONATES


FOLLR assisted OPSA in donating $25,000.00 to Otero County for the express purpose of contributing to the expansion and addition of 4 new shooting bays at the Sidney Paul Gordon Shooting Range.

Announced the 2022 Outdoor Equity Fund Recipient

"Friends of La Luz Range (FOLLR) ($20,000.00, Otero)"

"FOLLR will provide standardized instruction to students about the identification, handling, use, care, transportation of firearms, ammunition, and archery equipment as it pertains to hunting in the forests in New Mexico. The students attend classroom instruction provided by certified instructors who oversee practical application of the use of firearms and archery equipment on the shooting range."

FOLLR will advertise and post the schedule for the classes in the very near future.

"Sydney Paul Gordon Shooting Range/Otero County

Sydney Paul Gordon Shooting Range, operated by Otero County through a Special Use Permit on BLM land, will expand the capacity of the shooting range by adding a 100-yard multi-purpose shooting bay for advanced firearm courses and other events open to the public, such as Project Appleseed and the 4-H organization. They will also construct four additional general purpose shooting bays to increase the capability to hold large-scale events and lengthen one of the original rifle bays to better serve the needs of the rifle-shooting community and to promote educational courses and competitional matches to the public.
